The EPOCH RK_L wide-voltage optical encoder kit is a high-performance, low-cost, two-channel optical incremental encoder module for wide voltage range operation. It consists of a highly collimated 850nm infrared light source and a detector IC enclosed in a small C-shaped plastic package. When matched with a code disc or codestrip, it provides precise rotary or linear position information. The RK_L series supports linear (LPI) encoder configurations with an extensive range of resolution options.
2-channel incremental encoder — Quadrature Aout and Bout outputs with TTL-compatible levels
Wide supply voltage range: 2.7V ~ 5.5V enabling both 3.3V and 5V operation
LPI-based resolution: 12 LPI options from 20 to 450 LPI for linear encoder applications
60 kHz response frequency suitable for general-purpose motion control feedback
850nm infrared light source for reliable optical sensing
Wide operating temperature: -20°C ~ +85°C
Multiple mechanical options: straight or bent leads, with or without mounting holes
Typical applications of the RK_L C-shape optical encoder kit include printers, plotters, servo motors, DC motors, stepper motors, and office automation equipment. The wide-voltage encoder kit is particularly well-suited for battery-powered devices and 3.3V-based motion control systems requiring reliable 2-channel quadrature output.
Safety Note: This product is not recommended for use in safety-critical applications such as ABS braking systems.

The RK_L wide-voltage optical encoder kit ordering code follows the format: RK [LPI] [Lead Type] [Light Source] [Mounting Holes]
The "L" in RK_L denotes the wide-voltage version (2.7V ~ 5.5V), supporting both 3.3V and 5V systems. The light source is fixed at 850nm infrared for the RK_L series.
